Pentagon Develop More Sophisticated Search Engines Named Memex

Pentagon through institutions Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is currently developing search engine technology which claimed far more superior than Google.

According to them, labeled Memex search engine is able to perform better in the search task, could even reach 95% search for information that could not be done by Google.

Search engine whose name is taken from a combination of memory and this Index, designed to browse the information that is not indexed on the internet, including able to explore a database of information that is not displayed on Google and other hidden parts where criminal activity actually performed.

"We envision the existence of a new paradigm in internet search that will adjust the content, search results, and display interfaces for individual users and for users in a particular field of study, and not vice versa," said DARPA Program Manager Chris White said in a statement.

"By creating better methods to interact and share information, we want to increase the ability of search engines to everyone and enabling people to search information. Ease of use for those who are not programmers is very important," he added, as reported by Computer World.

In contrast to the results offered by Google, Bing, and Yahoo, which is based on advertising and linearly displayed by the search engine algorithms, Memex will present information in the form of sophisticated infographics where the information is difficult to be found by Google.

It is believed to be very helpful in combating various forms of crime such as human trafficking, prostitution and terrorism online. But DARPA assured that it will also be very useful for government, military, and commercial organizations in finding and organizing "mission critical" information on the Internet.

Such can quickly find information on the worst hit areas in the event of natural disasters.
