Then, for more than a year ago, we followed with excitement "True Detective" on HBO Nordic , later to clamp the series on Blu-ray and now it is the turn of SVT. Gratifying as clear as more will be able to discovered Nic Pizzolattos masterpiece and hopefully be as reckless betuttade in the eight sections as I am.
In starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Author and screenwriter is Pizzolatto, while Cary Fukunaga directing all eight sections.
"True Detective" series shifts between the present and the events that begins 17 years earlier. Rust Cohle (McConaughey) and Marty Hart (Harrelson) are two police officers in Louisiana who hunts a serial killer responsible for several murders with ritualistic overtones. We begin to follow the main duo in 1995 and will then see how they are affected by their job both mentally and physically.
Here we say SPOILER ALERT if you have not seen "True Detective" - below the picture are details that can be perceived as revealing. Do not want to know anything about the series, do not continue to read.

"Once There Was Only dark. If you ask me, The Light's winning. "
"True Detective" is really about three things, two of them are Rust Cohle and Marty Hart. Everything around them is only dry filler, the necessary building blocks of narrative construction. It has its advantages, but also disadvantages.
It is possible to criticize "True Detective" too much. I also see the inputs, and it is both a shame, for example, the series' women only have the function to act as catalysts for Cohle and Hart. On the other hand: In the "True Detective" is starring role characters' point of view dominant. As Cohle and Hart looks at women as women are presented.
If you buy that argument leads also to the world that we may have access to the full based on what Cohle and Hart believe or not believe. They're already when the series begins lost men - because it is low, they can be likened to the fallen heroes.
Rust Cohle has certainly not done an about-face, but compared to his previous statements and nihilistic pessimism life, he leaves us with little optimism. When that happens, he first spiritually naked and showing what it is that after all drives him.
It is also fascinating to take part of Cohles thoughts on humanity. Through his atheism, he criticizes religions, but he does this without question and challenge his own worldview and fast, it's like his atheism is a religion in itself.
For Marty Hart life changes earlier. To some extent based this in his and Cohles hunt for the killer, but also depends on Marty's own choices. When he was towards the end realizes what he has lost, it strikes hard, and that realization comes alive when the phenomenally by Woody Harrelson.
To be swept away in McConaugheys acting is easy. He is the star of "True Detective", he gets and takes the most space and he is magnetic. But the more times I see the series, the more I value in Woody Harrelsons effort. Alone, he is strong, and it is also he who on his shoulders lift McConaughey to new heights.
This show would have been impossible without a stable build script and a director with fingertip. When "True Detective" will return for a new turn with a new actor, it is also with different directors at the helm. I think there is a mistake. The first season shows the necessity of a person takes overall responsibility for turning Pizzolattos script into something visually sustainable. For "True Detective" is as much a feeling as it is dialogue and characters. Cary Fukunaga related to this port with more than honor intact. Do not, for example the intense and six minute long scene that ends chapter four.
As important as the visuals are also the music, here selected by T Bone Burnett. Songs 'lyrics and tons linked with it we can imagine spinning around in the characters' heads; the music is as much an explanation as to who they are as their decisions and what they actually say.

Pizzolatto and others have said this before, but we will take a turn to the third thing "True Detective" is about the stories.
The theme permeates the entire series. Life is a story we write themselves depending on choices and external circumstances. This story need input, so you have to keep track of what slips in and shape our lives and "decide" how we act and what we believe. Cohles hatred of religion is an example, for him it is only stories that we have been cheated are true.
Another example occurs during the series' action-climax - passports and SPOILER ALERT , from here to the end of the text follows the details from the season finale - when Errol Childress does not want more than to create their own story. That he is the big bath, the one where he chooses to flee to Hart and Cohle will follow him into the maze. He seems to have dreamed and planned this spectacle; long as it was a stagnant chess without opponents, but Childress must have been aware that the end is always going to be fatal for him or for his combatants.
Cohle and Hart also tells a story Papania and Gilbough, the two policemen questioning our protagonists. After a while, we realize that the story is not always consistent with how it actually happened. And when we find out it starts facade crack. Can we believe anything you say? Should we rely more on Cohle or Hart? In none of them? Whose story is most credible?
The end result contains at least one kind of justice, albeit not definitive and comprehensive one. When Rust Cohle and Marty Hart is injured in the labyrinth inside and sees a glimmer of hope on an emergency flare lit up the sky represents both the start and finish.
Both Cohle and Hart admits to themselves that in 1995 they failed to arrest the right person and that they therefore indirectly responsible for the evil to continue to spread. When the first season of "True dective" is the end, both Rust and Marty took the responsibility they feel they need to take to move forward.
